MEET COACH MICHELLE MANNISTO

Coach Mannisto has a Masters and Bachelor Degree in Physical Education & Exercise Science and a second Masters Degree in Athletic Administration.

Coach Mannisto played NCAA Division I Basketball at the University of Detroit. She was All-State in Basketball and Track, All-Conference in Volleyball and held a 3.65 GPA. Her high school team won a Michigan State Championship and held #1 State Rankings.

Coach Mannisto began her coaching career at Shasta College under All-American and SDSU men's basketball player Jerry Brown. After two seasons, they compiled a record of 23-7 and 27 - 5, respectively. She then moved on to a head coaching position at Shasta High School and recorded a 20 - 3 start; at the same time she developed a successful college bound AAU Club program that placed numerous student athletes on college teams. Mannisto then took an Assistant Coaching position for the Inaugural Cuyamaca College Women’s Basketball Season. Coach Mannisto thereafter accepted a position at Gavilan Community College as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach/PE & Exercise Science Instructor. Her team only had six players the first season; she recruited a team of 14 her second season and they made the playoffs. She then took on a high-profile coaching position at San Diego HS, where she led her team to a 12 - 0 record in the Eastern League, with an overall record of 23-5. She coached All-American and San Diego Player of the Year - Paris Johnson (Current Bishop HS Coach). In 2018, Coach Mannisto began coaching Clairemont HS Girls Basketball. In her second season, she led her team to a league championship and a section final. This was only the 2nd time in the history of the HS and the first time in 23 years. Shortly after that, Coach Mannisto became an ihoop2 Assistant Coach to previous WNBA Coach and professional player, Laurie Byrd.

Coach Mannisto currently serves as the head coach for Point Loma High School's girls' varsity team and the Correia Middle School girls' team, which clinched the competitive division Championship title in the 2024-2025 season, a year after leading Correia to a league championship and Dana Middle School to the Section Championships during the 2023-2024 season.

Mannisto has been a California Realtor since 2001 and has sold over $67 million in sales.
